Rehberg Secures Hydraulic Fracturing Rule Comment Period Extension

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the followings statement after the White House extended the comment period for new Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Hydraulic fracturing rules for 60 days. Earlier this week, Rehberg joined House National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands Subcommittee Chairman Rob Bishop and 56 other members of the U.S. House in sending a letter requesting an extension.

Chaffetz Sponsored Hydropower Legislation Passes The House

Washington, DC – Today, the House of Representatives passed HR 460, legislation sponsored by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (UT-03) that addresses hydro power on the Diamond Fork System of the Central Utah Project. HR 460, the Bonneville Unit Clean Hydropower Facilitation Act passed the House as Title II of HR 2578, the Conservation and Economic Growth Act by a vote of 232 - 188.

Rep. Young Votes to Expand American-Made Energy

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Continuing its focus on creating jobs and expanding American-made energy, the House of Representatives voted to pass H.R. 4480, the Domestic Energy and Jobs Act – a bill that includes, among other things, a provision co-sponsored by Alaskan Congressman Don Young which would cut the red tape and streamline production in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A). The bill passed the House with a bipartisan vote of 248 to 163.
