WASHINGTON, D.C. – Industry leaders and associations representing rural America released statements in support of Chairman Newhouse’s introduction of H. Res. 339, a resolution expressing the sense of Congress that an “all of the above” energy plan is the most viable approach to American energy independence. Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) President Heather Reams: “Energy produced in the United States is among the cleanest in the world, and CRES believes that an all-of-the-above energy strategy is critical for our clean energy future. With this resolution, Chairman Dan Newhouse and the Congressional Western Caucus are reaffirming the United States' commitment to secure, reliable, and clean American energy and strengthening our role as a global leader in emissions reductions.” Western Energy Alliance President Kathleen Sgamma: “Western Energy Alliance is happy to support the resolution as the Congressional Western Caucus has developed a strong, realistic statement of the need for reliable, affordable energy. Too many politicians and policy influencers present a false choice between fossil fuels and renewables when there’s a need for both. Oil and natural gas provide about 70% of U.S. and global energy needs and President Biden’s own Department of Energy projects their consumption will increase through at least 2050, yet the president just made the ridiculous statement at the State of the Union address that we’ll need them just for another decade. When leaders peddle false information about energy issues and try to distort the market with heavy-handed government policies, it results in wasteful government spending, higher energy prices for Americans, and instability of energy supplies. This resolution is an antidote to those poor energy policies.” American Conservation Coalition Action (ACC Action) VP of External Affairs Christopher Barnard: “Blocking renewable energy projects and eliminating fossil fuels are both losing messages for young Americans. The future of American energy is affordable, reliable, and increasingly clean, which can only mean the future of American energy is all of the above. ACC Action applauds the Western Caucus for championing this winning message.” U.S. Oil & Gas Association: “It is a fool’s errand to regulate away huge swaths of US energy capacity just to placate the ever-shrinking, ever-shrieking group of climate elitists and activists. Chairman Newhouse and the House Western Caucus members clearly get it. We need more energy- more energy from all sources. And if we need more of everything, America’s policy absolutely has to be based on the “All of the Above” approach. The US Oil & Gas Association companies and our thousands of workers strongly endorse this Resolution.” Kansas Independent Oil & Gas Association President Edward Cross: “The Biden Administration continues to look for every opportunity to attack, weaken, and destroy domestic energy production. In two short years, we have gone from American energy dominance to American energy despair. We now beg foreign dictators for oil when we have ample energy supplies right here at home. Current national energy policy is based on insufficient information and a lack of perspective. Our nation needs all forms of energy, including oil and natural gas. We welcome the "all of the above" resolution as a common-sense approach to domestic energy production that will result in lower energy prices for American consumers.” Additional supporting organizations include: American Exploration and Production Council (AXPC), Permian Basin Petroleum Association, and the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
