Washington, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today sent a letter to President Barack Obama asking him to commit to not designating new national monuments in Montana at the end of his first term. Rehberg and the U.S. House had included bipartisan language requiring state approval of new National Monuments in the Sportsmen’s Heritage Act which passed the House in April. Senator Jon Tester sponsored the legislation in the Senate, and quietly removed this important provision.

Gosar: House Passes Gosar Initiatives to Protect Arizona Jobs and Water

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar’s (R-AZ) Regional Haze Regulatory Relief Amendment and the Navajo Generating Station Amendment, initiatives aimed at preserving jobs and shielding communities from increased water and electricity costs, were approved as part of the Stop the War on Coal Act (H.R. 3409). The act, a package of bills that collectively will scale-back the Obama Administration’s war on coal, passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 232 to 175.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –The House of Representative today passed H.R. 3409, the Stop the War on Coal Act of 2012 – which contains language similar to Alaskan Congressman Don Young’s bill, H.R. 517. The Stop the War on Coal Act, reigns in many of the job-killing regulations President Obama has enacted during his first term that specifically target fossil fuels. H.R. 3409 passed the House with a bipartisan vote of 233-175.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Montana's Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today joined the House of Representatives in passing H.R. 3409, the Stop the War on Coal Act of 2012. This critical legislative package includes several bills intended to rein in President Obama’s regulatory assault on one of the nation’s most important sources of energy. Among the provisions is a measure that would ease the regulatory burden that is largely to blame for a decision earlier this week by PPL Montana to mothball a 154-megawatt coal plant in Billings that has been in operation for 44 years.
